Every time we remember the past, we are interpreting it. Studying history helps us learn how to interpret the past responsibly. This course explores the histories behind current events. We will connect current events and controversies to the pasts that inform them and discuss how this matters to us as individuals and as citizens. Students will have opportunities to choose relevant topics and conduct research with primary sources.
