Course Description
This course will focus on understanding the urban ecosystem from both an ecological and social-science standpoint with a focus on (a) how urban ecosystems are different from other ecosystems; (b) how urban biotic and abiotic communities' structures interact and function to create unique ecosystems; (c) what distinct ecosystems are created in urban areas by humans; and (d) how do social constructs of nature create urban ecosystems.
