Course Description

Health, Justice, and Society II continues to explore the relationship between health disparities, justice, and both individual and community health. Students will examine health disparities and outcomes in four areas: core medical sociological theories and models; the biology of stress; intersections of race, class, and gender for health; and an introduction to genetics and health disparities. Additional instruction will prepare students to care for patients with consideration to disability status or special health care needs, ethnicity and race, gender identity, religion and spirituality, and sexual orientation.
