Course Description

This course examines molecular, morphological, and functional changes in the neural circuits that are involved in the pathophysiology of the following neurological diseases/disorders: migraine/headache, insomnia/sleep disorders, alcohol use disorder, FTD/ALS, epilepsy/seizure disorders, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, post-traumatic stress disorder, and TBI/coma/locked-in syndrome. Students will be expected to analyze peer-reviewed literature, prepare presentations, and discuss follow-up experimental protocols for the study of mechanisms of etiology of above-mentioned diseases/disorders.
