Course Description

Integrate nursing concepts into comprehensive care for adult patients with altered health conditions, while applying knowledge of disease processes, assessment findings, and clinical judgment to make evidence-based decisions. Demonstrate professional accountability, cultural competence, holistic care, and safe practice while utilizing information technology to support clinical decision-making and documentation. Identify nursing practice concerns and quality improvement methods with interprofessional collaboration. Develop the ability to explain clinical findings and contribute to effective, patient-centered care. This course includes 90 clinical/skills lab hours. This is the independent study (IND) component of this course. Students are expected to complete these hours through a combination of simulation, skill acquisition, and community-based clinical immersion.
