Students will explore visual arts, drama, music, and movement as powerful tools for fostering creativity, critical thinking, and emotional regulation in young learners. This course highlights culturally sustaining pedagogies by incorporating artistic traditions from minoritized and Indigenous communities, promoting equitable and inclusive approaches to arts education. Students will engage in hands-on experiences with studio art materials, digital tools, and eco-friendly art practices to develop sustainable, developmentally appropriate curricula. Through lesson planning, classroom applications, and community-based art initiatives, students will gain practical skills in designing and implementing arts-based learning experiences.
