Course Description
In teams of 2-4, students work closely with their faculty mentor and organizational mentor at a government agency, nongovernmental organization, or business to complete a project that advances the goals of the partner organization. Student teams and organizational partners, as well as project scope and timeline, are determined during the Capstone Planning workshop. The organizational mentor supervises the project tasks and direction, while the faculty mentor facilitates student reflection on learning, and provides additional assistance as needed. Depending on the specific capstone project, student teams may work 30-40 hours per week over summer sessions 1 and 2, or 5-10 hours per week over Fall 1, Fall 2 and Spring 1 semesters, to total 225 work hours (5 credits) spent on activities related to the capstone project.
