Course Description

In this course, students will explore the concept of sustainable healthy diets (SHDs) and examine dietary patterns that promote all dimensions of health and well-being, have a low environmental impact, and are accessible, affordable, safe, equitable, and culturally acceptable.

Upon successfully completing the 'Sustainable Healthy Diets' course, students will gain knowledge about the concept of sustainable healthy diets and the major target areas for behavioral intervention to encourage their adoption. They will also develop an understanding of the specific drivers and barriers that influence the adoption of SHDs among the population, enabling them to identify evidence-based and culturally informed approaches are most feasible to implement and will lead to the greatest number of people adhering to SHDs, thereby benefiting individual and planetary health.
