Course Description

Develop knowledge of the philosophical (epistemological, ontological), theoretical, and conceptual foundations of nursing science as they apply to advanced nursing practice. Emphasis is placed on evaluating patterns of knowing and approaches to reasoning used in both scholarly and practice-based inquiry. Explore the relationships among nursing theories, models, and concepts, and articulate how these frameworks inform decision-making in advanced practice. Develop scholarly reasoning and theoretical grounding necessary for evidence-based practice and leadership in nursing.
