WRIT305 - Advanced Foundations Writing
Course ID
044102
Course Description
Advanced Foundations Writing builds on the rhetorical knowledge students gained in previous college writing experiences to support the development of learners across a range of writing situations, disciplines, and professions. As an upper division writing course, students will be expected to incorporate the skills and demands related to their studies or professional interests, working independently on projects connected to these fields. Students will read about and learn to analyze discourses and genres both linguistically and rhetorically. Students will apply these insights in composing a variety of academic, professional, and public texts. Through both formal and informal writing activities, this course emphasizes awareness of how writing differs across environments with guided practice in shifting purpose, style, and register.
