Substitutions for Approved General Education Courses
Note: The transfer of individual general education courses is evaluated on a course-by-course basis. More details are found in the Undergraduate Transfer Credit policy.
Substitutions of University of Arizona courses to satisfy General Education requirements are not encouraged, and will be granted only for extraordinary circumstances. The Office of General Education approves all substitutions of General Education requirements for courses taken at the University of Arizona other than those based on disability.
Students requiring accommodation based on disability should first contact the Disability Resource Center. The Disability Resource Center will work with the student to determine the appropriate accommodation. If a course substitution is deemed appropriate, the student will then work with their academic advisor to determine the actual course to be substituted.
Course substitutions once granted to a student will be honored by all undergraduate programs for that student.
