Program Description
As part of the track for earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), students can opt for a graduate certificate in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care (ACNP). The certificate readies nurses to work with adult patients 18 years and older with complex chronic illness and acute and/or critical illness and injuries. Students will graduate trained and prepared to assess, diagnose and treat patients in a fast-paced environment by ordering and interpreting lab and diagnostic tests, performing procedures and coordinating care. Certificate applicants can enter this specialty track as a nurse practitioner looking for an additional certification in this specialty.
