Program Description
The Master of Arts in English offers instruction in English and American literature, giving you analytical tools, diverse perspectives and historical depth for exploring the present through the lens of the past. The broad range of course options include studies in Old English literature, regionally focused work and modern literature in a variety of genres - mixed-media stories, moving images, folklore and more. If you are interested in a career in teaching, you can focus on instruction in composition, writing, and English as a Second/Foreign Language, among other preparation. An accelerated option allows for the completion of both a B.A. and M.A. within five years.
