Program Description
The field of geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments, and it has many applications in both academic and non-academic professions. The work incorporates elements of physical geography, human geography and human-environment relationships, and the Master of Arts in Geography prepares you for a broad range of careers - from teaching positions to cartography and environmental consulting to urban planning. Core courses cover the history of geographic thought and the elements of research design. Electives center on subfields such as economic, cultural or political geography. Select a thesis or non-thesis option to round out the degree.
