Program Description
Undergraduate Certificate in Global Health will equip participants with foundational knowledge and skills that are necessary to engage effectively in global health practice - whether at home in a diverse setting, along the border in a bi-cultural environment, working side-by-side in indigenous homelands or abroad where populations and communities are displaced and under-resourced, and where health systems are severely constrained.
Learning Outcomes
- Identify the role of health data and epidemiology in the development of the field of public health and efforts to affect individual behavior in order to control disease.
- Use standard approaches to identify public health priorities.
- Develop an evaluation and sustainability plan for a small-scale project in global health program.
- Develop effective presentation and training skills for media advocacy to influence health policy.
- Apply community and public health education methods and strategies at the community and policy level.
