Program Description
Civic engagement is a keystone of democracy. W.A. Franke Honors College students are poised to make significant contributions to civic leadership with their passions, interdisciplinary perspectives, and commitment to social responsibility. The Honors Civic Leadership Certificate prepares Franke Honors students for leadership in government, the community, and in the private sector.
Civic leaders are characterized by their ability to inspire others, to be good stewards of the public trust, to serve and empower others, to build commitments, and to mobilize citizens to collaborate and work toward better organizations, communities, and societies. The Honors Civic Leadership certificate is designed to engage a new generation of leaders who identify, analyze, and attempt to solve critical public issues through collaborative action.
