Program Description
As a graduate student in the interdisciplinary M.A. program in Latin American Studies, you will collaborate with internationally renowned scholars. The goal: Develop finely tuned research skills to join fieldwork in Latin America and along the U.S.-Mexico border. You will learn qualitative research methods, undertake a research seminar and cultivate language proficiencies in Spanish and Portuguese. Primary areas of concentration: Borders of the Americas and Immigration; Environment and Development; History and Culture; Power and Inequality; and regional studies focusing on Mexico, Central America or Brazil. Additionally, you can opt for a dual degree in Law, Public Administration, Public Health or Journalism.
