Program Description
Affiliated with the Master of Public Health (MPH), the 12-credit Graduate Certificate in Maternal and Child Health Epidemiology - a discipline seeing a resurgence of interest among health care providers and policymakers - equips students to contribute to the improvement in the health status of women and children at risk. The curriculum touches on topics such as biostatistics; epidemiology; and project design, implementation and evaluation, and finds basis in the ethos of public health, which posits that prevention of disease is the best approach to controlling cost, increasing access to health care and improving the health status of human populations.
