The Graduate Certificate in Natural Language Processing (NLP) distinguishes itself from related programs in that it's accessible to students across a spectrum of fields, disciplines and domains. Unlike other data-oriented courses, the NLP program caters to students who bring more language expertise than they do computational expertise. The nine-credit NLP Graduate Certificate trains you in teaching computers to use language by extracting knowledge from text, and then using that knowledge in meaningful ways. Examples include text summarization, text to speech and speech recognition. You will also get training in statistical NLP, computational linguistics, speech technology, text retrieval and neural networks.
