Program Description

If you want to gain experience for medical school and other health professions as an undergraduate, the Physiology and Medical Sciences major will be a good fit. Physiology, the study of normal function of living organisms, is at the root of all life sciences. The University of Arizona is the only university to offer an undergraduate degree in physiology within a medical school. Students earning their Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences in Physiology and Medical Sciences study at the University of Arizona's College of Medicine. The program prepares students for graduate studies to pursue careers in medicine and other health-related professions or research and biotechnology. Through coursework, undergraduates learn about the biological functions of the human body and how they are affected by disease processes.
