Program Description
Achieving a Master of Arts in Psychology is a steppingstone to a Ph.D. in Psychology. As a master's program applicant, you must first be accepted into the doctoral program to begin your M.A. studies. Your graduate work will relate to promoting health in all forms, from understanding the circuitry of the mind and brain, to exploring the social, cultural and environmental factors that influence behavior. To that end, the department offers three concentrations: clinical psychology; cognition and neural systems; or social psychology. Depending on your area of focus, classes might include Principles of Neuroanatomy, Teaching of Psychology or Statistics Fundamentals.
