If you are interested in unifying the human and machine elements of large complex systems, the Systems Engineering master's program is ideal. The curriculum teaches design viewpoints and methods and tools for modeling and analysis, and delivers design, modeling and analytical methods for sociotechnical systems in aerospace, communication, defense, health care, transportation and manufacturing. It emphasizes that if complex systems are to do what they're intended, without unwanted side effects, they must be designed with imagination, technical skill, rigorous attention to the design process itself, and an awareness of the interactions among system components with other systems and society.
