Course Description
The goal of this course is to understand contemporary France and its social issues while improving your mastery of the French language. We will study: Information and technology (media, economy); France and Europe (regions and languages, the Francophone world, the European Union); Political life (the Republic, the State, political parties); Social life (family, work and leisure, social protection); Cultural life (religion, immigration, education). You will also be required to follow current events in the French press and conduct Internet research throughout the semester.
