SRL201 - Using Physical Activity to Explore the Human Body
Course Description
This course encourages students to approach physical activity, the human body, stress management, and health and wellness from a natural scientist perspective. Students will critically analyze their own personal interpretation of the multi-faceted elements that combine for optimal health. This will include perspectives of their past, present, and future. By completing individual labs, learning logs, physical activity, and a health and wellness plan, students will learn to recognize the complexity and formulate hypotheses around living a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, students will use, and present, primary materials and data to explore group/individual identity, navigate the intersection of access and implementation of health and wellness, societal norms, and the development of sustainable health and wellness and health benefits. The multifactorial approach will enable students to contribute to solving local and global challenges in the health industry
