Course Description
This course is required for incoming first-year students in the Schedule for Success program taken concurrently with MATH 100. The purpose of the course is to introduce and strengthen study skills and learning strategies to aide you in your current MATH 100 course, but also in future math courses and other subjects. Coursework consists of attending weekly class meetings where students work together in small groups, apply learning strategies, and build academic confidence. Learning Strategies include: time management, growth mindset, anxiety and test taking, metacognition, resiliency and burnout, and understanding a math progression plan dependent on major requirements.
Please note: This course by itself cannot be used to satisfy the general math requirement for any degree program. Units from this course will count toward full time eligibility for scholarships, financial aid and other campus related activities; however, units from this course will not count toward graduation requirements.
