This course will explore the Anthropology of Childhood. Conceptions of childhood, including the experiences, functions and meanings of childhood, vary widely across time and place. The course will examine childhood anthropologically and comparatively, including historical, economic, political, educational, and legal perspectives. We will draw on local and global examples.
