This course introduces the technical foundations of landscape construction, focusing on how built landscape elements are conceived, evaluated, detailed, and documented. Students examine common construction systems through the lenses of structural behavior, material properties, and industry standards. Emphasis is placed on understanding materials and their performance, limitations, and appropriate applications. Students learn to communicate design intent through professional drafting conventions and the preparation of construction documents. Sustainability considerations are integrated throughout the course.
