Course Description
Students will be placed in actual K-12 and/or University classrooms to observe professional educational interpreters at work for a total of 90 hours over the course of the semester, which is about 6 hours per week for the duration of the semester (observation). Students will meet with practicum instructor and other students weekly to discuss practicum experiences. Class discussions will focus on the application of interpretation theory, ethical and situational challenges and problem-solving techniques (seminar).
