Course Description

This one-unit course is designed for first year students in STEM to support and empower their first-year experience as they adjust to university life and expectations, and to allow them to explore topics at the nexus of leadership, diversity, and opportunities within STEM careers. This course seeks to build leadership skills, create networking and mentoring opportunities. The course will include presentations, discussions, small-group activities, lab visits, reflections, and guest speakers. Students are expected to come prepared for thoughtful discussions, to ask questions, and otherwise participate in class activities as appropriate.
