Course Description
This course focuses on the justice of distribution of resources across the members of a society together with analysis of institutions that do the work of assigning resources to particular parties, particularly markets and institutions communities rely upon to regulate access to common pool resources. Some of the specific topics we will consider include: (i) utilitarianism, (ii) veil-of-ignorance contractualism, (iii) rational choice contractarianism, (iv) libertarian analyses of justice in holdings, (v) the moral status of the market and (vi) mechanisms for public good and common pool resource provision.
