Course Description

The focus of this course is on the practice of managing community-focused collaborative projects working towards social change. This elective course will teach students how to approach project management in community settings considering the perspectives, values and needs of local populations and organizations and how these views may inform program focus and strategies. Students will learn about becoming a leader who aims to serve others and work collaboratively; learn about different approaches for supporting and evaluating community improvement efforts; and learn how to build capacity for and create system change, drawing upon a diverse group of stakeholders to make improvements.
