Course Description

In this course students will learn to gather relevant information relating to a presenting problem, psychosocial history, and current functioning through effective questioning, active listening, and empathic responding. Students will also gain a foundation for how to administer, score, and interpret standardized assessment tools and how to communicate their findings. The course provides hands-on experience with the administration/use of the SCID, WAIS, and MMPI. Students will practice skills of clinical interviewing and assessment administration using role-plays and participants from the subject pool.
