Course Description

AFAS 297 targets students who have difficulty and/or a lack of confidence in writing critical papers from a Humanist perspective. This elective will support students as they explore different forms of writing in the Caribbean Studies discipline. From report writing, critical essays, fieldnotes, creative writing to short answer questions. It is the perfect avenue for students to \"practice skills related to the creation, analysis and communication of knowledge\" in the Humanities. Subsequently, this student driven module accentuates the classroom instruction of various Africana Studies courses. AFAS 297 is well suited to AFAS majors and minors as well as students pursuing certificates and courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
