Program Description
The Doctorate in Applied Intercultural Arts Research prepares you to use your knowledge of music, arts and diverse cultural practices to work toward applied interdisciplinary arts-based solutions for complex humanistic, social and scientific problems. As part of your degree, you will minor in an area outside the arts to strengthen your interdisciplinary research agenda and prepare you for interprofessional collaborations in and beyond academia. For example, if you had a background in music and were interested in researching whether different kinds of music may help stroke patients regain speech abilities, you might choose to minor in cognitive science.
