At least 3 units (1 semester) from a core course listed below (more may be taken if preferred):
Math 584 A/B - Theory -- Theoretical Foundations of Applied Mathematics - 3 units
Math 589 A/B - Algorithms -- Numerical Analysis and Algorithms of Applied Mathematics - 3 units
Math 581 A/B- Methods -- Methods in Applied Mathematics - 3 units
9 units of graduate-level Math coursework , graduate-level coursework in another discipline, or a combination of graduate-level coursework disciplines.
Examples of acceptable disciplines include (but are not limited to): Engineering, Computer Science, Astronomy, Biology. Please consult with an advisor.
Final course selection and Plan of study must be approved by Director of Graduate Studies in advance.
The GPA of all courses to be counted toward the Certificate must be greater than 3.0.
No course may be taken more than once.
There is no exam or language requirement.
