The Ph.D. program in Biosystems Engineering is ideal for those who would like to perform timely research and develop technologies related to the safe production of food, bioenergy, bioproducts and biological information, as well as the sustainable use of arid and semiarid environments. You will be trained in areas such as bioproducts; biosensors; controlled environment and precision agriculture; mechanization and automation; sensors and controls; renewable energy; and irrigation and water resources. Ph.D. students are required to complete a minor and develop a dissertation.
