Program Description
As a Chemical Engineering doctoral student, you will pursue advanced work in transport phenomena, thermodynamics and reaction engineering, all at the convergence of chemical and environmental engineering. You will conduct research and work on real-world projects in areas like water treatment, hazardous waste remediation and biofuels, surrounded by best-in-class facilities such as the Water & Energy Sustainable Technology Center, the BIO5 Institute and the Micro/Nano Fabrication Center. Our globally recognized faculty helps tailor your studies within eight areas of focus: renewable energy; applied quantum chemistry; water treatment and reuse; semiconductor manufacturing; atmospheric physics and chemistry; electrochemical processes; nanotechnology; and bioremediation.
