Doctor of Philosophy

The Ph.D. in Economics is a residential program for those who have extensive experience in the field of economics and want additional education to further their career. Opportunities for positions in academia, government, nonprofit organizations and the private sector may expand following a course of study in this doctoral program. Students can expect a continued focus on microeconomics but may also choose a concentration in other areas such as financial economics. With the permission of your academic adviser, you may also choose a minor in another department. Most students studying for a Ph.D. in Economics receive financial assistance throughout the residency.
