Doctor of Philosophy

The Ph.D. in Genetics prepares you for a variety of careers in academia, biotechnology, government, and nontraditional directions in law and medicine. As an interdisciplinary program, you can choose an advisor from over 75 internationally recognized faculty conducting high-impact research in a wide variety of biological and biomedical fields, representing model, experimental and applied genetic systems. Your doctoral studies will include courses, seminars and journal clubs; but, most importantly, you will carry out a research project in genetics in which you learn how to generate new knowledge and prepare for a career asking the big biological questions.
