Program Description
The Ph.D. program in Human Development and Family Science is for students interested in research, consulting or teaching at the college level. The program offers cutting-edge training, with an emphasis on developing skills for conducting basic and applied research. Graduate coursework includes classes in theory, applications and rigorous research methodology, and statistics. You will work closely with a faculty mentor in a core area of interest. You will complete a dissertation. Recent Ph.D. graduates have taken positions as research scientists and professors in the fields of human development and family science, family health, adolescent sexuality, education, evaluation, extension, psychology and anthropology.
