Research (3 units) students need to take one of the following: 

• course: Action Inquiry in Classrooms and Communities (3) 

• Substitution course approved by the student's advisor

Major Core (6 units): 

• course: Language, Culture, and Society (3)

• course: Literacies and Transformative Pedagogies (3)

Students with no emphasis: select 15 units of courses in focus area.

Students with no emphasis: 6 units required
