A total of 12 MAS graduate units are required for completion of the Ph.D. minor in Mexican American Studies. All required units of credit must be at the graduate level at the University of Arizona or at an accredited institution in consultation with the Minor Advisor.

MAS 585 – Mexicana/Chicana Women’s History (not applicable if MAS 485 has been taken)

MAS 580A - Advanced Research Methods

Students should consult with their Minor Advisor in regards to the courses they should register for to satisfy the requirements. If you have questions about when courses will be scheduled, please contact the Program Coordinator.
Students are more than welcomed to register for more MAS courses as electives to further their knowledge and expertise on a subject. If there is a course not listed, please consult with your Minor Advisor about adding it onto your Plan of Study. See below for courses offered as an elective option within our department.
