The Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department, with annual research expenditures of $5.5 million, has launched breakthroughs in fields from microelectromechanical systems to the behavior of objects in space. As part of this department, you will engage in a research-based program of study that delves into topics such as fluid mechanics; solid mechanics; dynamic and computational mechanics; control systems; and thermosciences. You will enjoy the opportunity to work with University of Arizona faculty and students, as well as researchers from around the world, to develop technology and processes for implantable medical devices, renewable energy and autonomous vehicles, to name a few.
