Doctor of Philosophy

Essential to a successful mining and geological engineering career is a deep understanding of the need to preserve the planet's resources and protect the environment for future generations. This doctoral program curriculum is designed to prepare a professional engineer for leadership roles in the discipline via industry, research or academics. You will collaborate with esteemed faculty, researchers and engineers to develop extraction and processing methods; innovate ways to make mining safer and more efficient; explore means to convert mine waste into consumer products; and advance technology for mining operations. Research topics include geophysical sensing techniques and mine automation and sustainability.
