Program Description
The M.S. in Microbiology provides a postgraduate education in the basic science disciplines, including microbiology, immunology and food safety, while embracing an integrative approach to science. You have three options for earning your graduate degree: 1) Traditional M.S., which requires the completion of a major research project and preparation of a formal thesis; 2) Accelerated M.S., which allows you to earn both your bachelor's and master's degrees in five years and also involves the completion of a thesis; and 3) Non-thesis Applied M.S., which involves writing a scholarly paper based on a limited research project and extensive literature review.
