MSEPHD - Materials Science and Engineering

Doctor of Philosophy

In the Materials Science & Engineering doctoral program, you will study with a world-class faculty who are pioneering innovations in the field, both on campus and at the department's off-campus research facility, the Arizona Materials Laboratory. You will be encouraged to lead collaborative research projects in areas as diverse as high-tech ceramics; nonlinear optical materials; sol-gel and biomimetic processing; extractive and physical metallurgy; and polymers in electronic packaging. Courses of study focus on a research concentration: additive manufacturing; heritage conservation; integrated computational science and engineering; materials for energy conversion and heat control; materials, synthesis, processing and fabrication; and optical materials.
