Program Description
The Graduate Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery allows graduates to provide care to patients during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum, offering a scope of practice that includes gynecologic care, family planning, preconception care and care of a healthy newborn for the first 28 days of life. After completion of the certificate program, students will be able to integrate the hallmarks of midwifery in academic, clinical and professional settings and implement strategies to address the social determinants of health to improve health equity and health outcomes. Successful applicants must be a licensed APRN with a graduate degree.
