Program Description
The Pharmacology and Toxicology Ph.D. research track trains you to determine mechanisms of action for pharmaceuticals, identify potential drug targets and define adverse effects of chemicals, such as drugs, industrial chemicals and environmental pollutants. Its objectives are to impart advanced scientific knowledge in pharmacology and toxicology and to provide training opportunities in conducting state-of-the-art approaches in basic research in pharmacology and toxicology and closely related subdisciplines, including environmental toxicology, chemical pharmacology and proteomics. The program prepares you for careers in independent research or related careers in academics, industry or government. The average time to graduation is less than five years.
