Program Requirements

Physics Minor
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Complete 1 Introductory Mechanics Course. If you are not in the Honors College, contact the Physics department to register for PHYS 161H.
Earn at least 4 credits from the following:
AND
Complete 1 Introductory Optics & Thermodynamics course. Students not in the Honors College can contact the department to register for PHYS 162H.
Earn at least 3 credits from the following:
AND
Complete 1 Introductory Electricity & Magnetism Course. Students not in the Honors College can contact the department to enroll in PHYS 261H.
Earn at least 4 credits from the following:
AND
Take 1 Introductory Relativity & Quantum course. Students not in the Honors College can contact the department to enroll in PHYS 263H.
Earn at least 3 credits from the following:
Upper division core Physics coursework
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Complete 6 units. Please meet with a physics advisor to make sure your choices are logical and that you have the appropriate prerequisites.
Earn at least 6 credits from the following:
Physics Minor Graduation Requirements
Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
A minimum of 20 units are required in the minor.
AND
A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in the minor coursework.
AND
A minimum of 3 units in the minor must be taken at the University of Arizona.
AND
A minimum of 6 upper division units are required in the minor.
