The Plant Pathology Minor provides broad training in microbiology through the 4-unit core course, Principles of Plant Microbiology, combines lectures and discussion of primary literature to develop understanding of foundations and recent advances in genetic, genomic, agricultural, ecological, and evolutionary aspects of microbes, particularly free-living and plant-associated fungi, bacteria, and viruses. Additional coursework provides the opportunity to deepen understanding in individual microbe-related scientific domains.
